Dr.Bhandari is Board Certified in both Adult and Child Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.He completed his training in New York 's Nassau University Medical Center and followed this up with Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St.Luke's Roosevelt Hospital(Teaching Hospital For Columbia University School of Medicine )in New York City where he served as the Chief Fellow during his training 

Prior to moving to the SF Bay Area he served as the Director of Child Services at the Staten Island University Hospital,Staten Island ,NY. He was also responsible for establishing a new Residency Training Program and served as the Associate Director  for Post Graduate Education.He also holds the position of Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Hofstra -LIJ Medical School.

He is currently employed as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and sees patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Room as well as in the Ambulatory Walk in Clinic at CCRMC.

He has presented at several National Conferences as well as at local and community levels regarding various medical as well as social aspects and impact of Mental Health related issues.

It is his vision that every patient is unique and despite common themes each patient needs a thorough assessment and care that is best suited for them .
